Diggnation Live!

Ok so being the geek that I am (for cars, computers, music), I had to make it out to a taping of Diggnation. For those of you that do not know what Diggnation is, its a show about the top stories from the social networking site Digg.com. Its a simple concept with Alex Albrecht and Kevin Rose hosting, they sit on a couch and tell stories and bullshiat about the top stories. Its really a lot of fun and it helped to establish Revision3, an internet program network, and bring us Scam School. Go watch the show and take a look at the pics I took.

Nvision San Jose

The second set of pics are from the Nvision conference put on by Nvidia in San Jose. This was prior to the Diggnation taping but it was not the highlight for me so it gets sub-billing on the site. The conference was great. Got to play Mirror’s Edge, Bionic Commando 3D and may other upcoming and current games as well as see some presentations about how to be better at Photoshop and building a cheap gaming rig. The highlight of the show was the Masserati and Audis they had in the room showing off their electronics. I stared at the Masserati for a couple of hours. And like any conference there were booth babes. I of course took some pics and I hope you enjoy them.

Weird Al at the CA State Fair in Sacramento

Weird Al

So I, like a lot of crackers my age, have listened to Weird Al Yankovic for years. If you don’t like Weird Al then there is something wrong with you. As for the show it was a lot of fun and pretty amazing. First off Weird Al played videos, the false interviews that are on his site, in between sets. The reason there was enough time for this was that each song was pretty much a stage presentation of the videos. It was great, I have been to hundreds of shows and he put on one of the best. During Fat he came out in a fat suit, during Eat it he had on the classic red and black Michael Jackson jacket and for White and Nerdy he came out on a Segway with chrome rims. If you have not seen Weird Al live and you ever were interested in his music then you have to see him live. Next time he comes around on tour I will be there. Until then I have some pics, click on the pic to go to the gallery, and later I will have the videos I took posted.

Classic Woody Wagon

by jaredwestfall on Aug.12, 2008, under Down On The Street

I don’t know what kind of Woody Wagon this wasas it was leaving the parking lot to Trader Joe’s on Alvarado street in Downtown Monterey. It was a fully restored, beautiful ride. I only got two pictures of it so enjoy! Bonus there are some crappy videos of a Chevy Gasser that I have taken pics of at the Random Car show, you can find the pic in the gallery. The video is low quality but it gives an example of how great this thing sounded with that 409.

by jaredwestfall on Aug.11, 2008, under Randomness

Say “hooligan” and most will picture alcohol-fed football (soccer) fans of limited tooth count smashing each other in the face. Their vehicular equivalents have a similar appetite for volatile fuels—you’ll see no vehicle here listed on any EPA “Greenest” list. Here is the list of the best cars for a little Hoonage!

MINI Clubman Rickshaws running around Beijing

by jaredwestfall on Aug.08, 2008, under Randomness

When Beijing MINI needed an interesting way to communicate that the Clubman model was being introduced in Chinese, especially in light of all the media attention on the Olympics, it back-halved a slew of new Clubmans, mounted a pedicab front-end and sent them out for business.

The Ten Most Outrageous Car Body Kits

by jaredwestfall on Aug.05, 2008, under Randomness

Whether deciding the quickest way to live their dream of owning an exotic car is stretching those lines over a not-so-exotic frame — like a Ferrari out of a Fiero or a Porsche out of a Volkswagen Beetle — or just for the challenge, the results are usually outrageously memorable.
