The LA Times has this video from the LA Autoshow that I had not seen yet. Its the newly developed Dodge EV dragging a Challenger SRT. Watch the video for the surprising results.
The episode of Scam School that I got to participate in is finally up and available. Watch it here or head over to Revision3 and watch it. Everyone from Rev3 was great and check out Jonny Zavant who was assisting Brian Brushwood but is now touring on his own.
In a PopularMechanics.com exclusive, Jamie Hyneman breaks down his team’s most recent eye-popping experiment: rolling out a Ferrari, Harley, ATV, compact car and hand-built go-kart to the track, and pitting each against its electric-propulsion counterpart. The bottom line? Well read the article for that!
According to Slightly Stoopid’s Management, Silverback, the crew was detained at the American/ Canadian border on their way to their Fargo show in North Dakota.
The tour bus was pulled over and guided by drug sniffing dogs Border Patrol agents ordered everyone off of the tour bus and proceeded to search the bus where they found some marijuana and magic shrooms and lots of paraphernalia. If you are surprised by this then you have not been paying attention to their lyrics.
At this point the officer then asked what was in the trailer. The crew came clean and admitted they had several hand blown pipes that had not been used. All the items were confiscated and Kyle McDonald and Miles Doughtry were free to go with a rather large fine instead of facing felony charges.
Last week Jalopnik brought you the story of Ken Imhoff, who followed his dream by building his very own Lamborghini in his basement. Over the last week Jalopnik has been working with Mr. Imhoff to put together a story that will not only do justice to his car, but to his vision and persistence.
Jalopnik has some great coverage of the Paris auto show and has a round up posted on their front page. Click on the pic to go to their site and check out their pictures. They even have a section devoted to the booth babes.
So here are a ton of pics from the epic Cherry’s Jubilee Show n’ Shine on Cannery Row. As with a lot of general rod shows there was a serious lack of Mopar to be seen but I think my favorite was the 1972 Challenger with the blown HEMI. There were lots of great cars to see and as always the owners were very friendly. In the last two years this show has grown quite a bit down at Laguna Seca with the addition of Big Rigs and bikes. Enjoy the pics, by clicking on the picture at the top or enjoy these little videos that were broadcast live via qik.
Here is a preview for the Cherry’s Jubilee auto event here in Monterey this very weekend. Lots of great hot rods, food and music. Tonight is a cruise down Alvarado and then tomorrow on Cannery Row. For more information on the event go HERE. I also have some pics to throw up there.
Ok so being the geek that I am (for cars, computers, music), I had to make it out to a taping of Diggnation. For those of you that do not know what Diggnation is, its a show about the top stories from the social networking site Digg.com. Its a simple concept with Alex Albrecht and Kevin Rose hosting, they sit on a couch and tell stories and bullshiat about the top stories. Its really a lot of fun and it helped to establish Revision3, an internet program network, and bring us Scam School. Go watch the show and take a look at the pics I took.
The second set of pics are from the Nvision conference put on by Nvidia in San Jose. This was prior to the Diggnation taping but it was not the highlight for me so it gets sub-billing on the site. The conference was great. Got to play Mirror’s Edge, Bionic Commando 3D and may other upcoming and current games as well as see some presentations about how to be better at Photoshop and building a cheap gaming rig. The highlight of the show was the Masserati and Audis they had in the room showing off their electronics. I stared at the Masserati for a couple of hours. And like any conference there were booth babes. I of course took some pics and I hope you enjoy them.
